Imagine that your friend tells you that the new girl in your class is funny, kind and easy to get along with. You would likely be eager to get to know her and approach her with a smile to start a conversation.
However, imagine instead that your friend had told you she acted like a teacher’s pet and seemed to think she was better than everyone else. You probably would not be as welcoming, and instead look for faults to confirm what your friend told you.
Your attitude affects your experience. Stay open minded and be conscious of not being judgemental when you first meet a person. Your actions will shape their behaviour. Always give somebody the opportunity to show you their best sides.
